Guest Writers: Guidelines for Submissions

We welcome contributions to the Friends of Silverwood Park blog. Perhaps you are a volunteer in one of our project areas. Maybe you come to the park for recreation. Maybe you’ve been a student or teacher involved in education at the park. Maybe you’re a grower partner, or a customer of our growers. Whoever you are, you have stories to tell about your connection to Silverwood  Park!

Consider the following guidelines, then send us your words and images.

  • Short is good. We like essays in the 250-750 word range.
  • Images are good. We love seeing Silverwood Park through fresh eyes. Photo essays sharing the beauty of the park in all her moods make great blog posts. Please include captions and photo credits.
  • Creativity is good. Essays, short stories, poems, opinions, book reviews–if you think it will interest other park users, send it!

We’re happy to receive your submission any way that’s convenient for you to send it–in the body of an email, as an attached document, handwritten on a scrap of paper dropped in the mail. When you send it, please include your contact information. A writer-bio in one or two sentences, third person, is also helpful.
